Project Brief
This Music Video was created for the Japanese artist Neriame. I was commissioned to create a lyric video featuring illustrations. By the time I started the project, both the illustrations and the song had already been provided, so my role focused on design and animation.
このミュージックビデオは、アーティスト音莉飴さんからご依頼を受けて制作しました。イラストを使用したリリックビデオの制作を依頼され、着手時点で楽曲とイラストの両方がすでに提供されていたため、私は主にデザインとアニメーションを担当しました。
Art Direction
I focused on immersing myself in the song to explore how to expand its world through animation. The song captures the bittersweet emotions of a school romance in Japan, so I crafted a light and refreshing design that balances cuteness with the nostalgic essence of youth.
この曲は学生時代の淡い恋をテーマにしており、可愛らしさと青春のノスタルジーを両立させた、爽やかなデザインを目指しました。
Contrast
The song depicted a romantic rivalry, so I used symmetrical compositions throughout the video to reflect this relationship. For the colour palette, I contrasted the characters’ main colours—pink and blue—to emphasize their opposing dynamics.
この楽曲は恋のライバル関係を描いていたため、映像全体を通してシンメトリー構図を用い、二人の関係性を表現しました。カラーパレットでは、登場人物のメインカラーであるピンクとブルーを対比させることで、互いに対立する関係性を強調しています。

Typeface
Given the theme of school life, I decided to use handwritten text. To maintain visibility while avoiding a dark appearance from using black ink, I added black outlines to the text. This preserved the handwritten feel while ensuring readability.
- 学校生活をテーマにしていたことから、手書き風の文字を採用しました。黒塗りを使うと印象が重くなってしまうため、白塗りに黒いアウトラインを加えることで視認性を保ちつつ、手書きの温かみを残しました。

Texture
To evoke memories of school supplies, I incorporated paper textures and graph paper patterns. A brief watercolor scene was included to symbolize the fleeting nature of youth.
- また、文房具を思い出させるように、紙の質感や方眼紙のパターンを取り入れ、青春の儚さを象徴するために一瞬だけ水彩風のシーンを挿入しました。

3D elements
To visually enhance the song's progression, I increased the use of 3D elements in the second verse onwards. This created contrast and added emphasis compared to the first verse. Items such as cookies and loafers were synchronized with the lyrics using pre-existing 3D objects.
- 楽曲の展開に合わせて、2番以降では3D要素を増やすことで1番とのコントラストを生み、映像に抑揚を加えました。クッキーやローファーなどのモチーフは、既存の3Dオブジェクトを用い、歌詞の内容と同期させています。
